The Company’s Board of Directors received the “Board of the Year of Distinctive Practices 2006/7” held by the Institute of Directors (IOD) in cooperation with the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai Bankers’ Association, the Listed Companies’ Association and the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations. The announcement was held on December 11, 2007. The award is to recognize and promote the Board of Directors of listed companies that effectively and efficiently perform their duties. The six key criteria for consideration are the board policy, board performance, board structure, board style, board meetings, and board members. The Company won such recognition for the second consecutive year after the 2005/2006 one. This also highlighted the Company’s continuous and serious commitment to the good corporate governance and ensured its systematic, transparent and verifiable management. December 11, 2007


In August 2007, The Thai Investors Association and Thai Listed Companies Association jointly announced that Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited (RATCH) was rated “Excellent” in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) Assessment in 2007. According to the assessment, RATCH was in the range of 90 points out of 100 points. The overall evaluation was 74 points and 91 points for the general listed companies category and the SET 50 index group category, respectively. There were 460 companies participating in the AGM assessment. According to the criteria, their accounting periods must end on December 31, 2006 and such companies must not be categorized in the Non-performing group (NPG). Regarding the evaluation level, there were 5 levels which were excellent, very good, good, fair and improvement needed. Each company would be evaluated from disclosure to the shareholders in all channels, the committee’s observation on shareholders’ meeting day and the Company’s AGM self-assessment submitted to the committee.
