Berkprai Cogeneration Power Plant reaches financial close RATCH and Rajburi Sugar jointly sign 4-billion-baht facility agreement with Bangkok Bank

Bangkok: Recently, Mr. Sunthorn Arunanondchai (second from left) the Chairman of Berkprai Cogeneration Company Limited (Berkprai), Ms. Araya Arunanondchai (third from left) the Chairman of Rajburi Sugar Company Limited on behalf of the director of Berkprai and Mr. Peerawat Pumthong (first from left), Chief Business Development Officer of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited (RATCH) on behalf of the director of Berkprai have jointly signed the 4-billion-baht facility agreement with Mr. Chansak Fuangfu (first from right), Senior Executive Vice President and Ms. Yaowadee Nakhata (second from right), Executive Vice President of Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited. The loan agreement is to support the construction of 100-MW Berkprai Cogeneration Power Plant, with the scheduled commercial operation date in June 2019. In addition, Mr. Chartsiri Sophonpanich, the President of Bangkok Bank, participated in the signing ceremony as an honorable witness at Boontarik room, Bangkok Bank's head office.

With 65% owned by Rajburi Sugar and 35% owned by Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Company Limited,         a subsidiary of RATCH, Berkprai Cogeneration Co., Ltd. is the developer of Berkprai Cogeneration Power Plant, located at Berkprai sub-district, Banpong district, Ratchaburi. This 100-MW natural gas-fired cogeneration power project, with 15-ton-per-hour steam generation capacity was secured by the 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
