Ratchaburi Holding announced milestones of project development; PPA conclusion of NavaNakorn cogeneration project and COD of 6 solar farms

• Six solar farms with 29.25 MW capacity commence operation with another scheduled COD on November this year.
•The Nava Nakorn Cogeneration Power Plant concluded 25-year PPA with EGAT

Bangkok: Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL. (RATCH) today announces progress of its projects development that six solar farms with 29.25MW combined capacity operated by Solarta Company Limited, in which RATCH holds 49% stake, have commenced commercial operation since last July and the 122 MW cogeneration project developed by Nava Nakorn Electricity Generating Company Limited, 40% owned by RATCH, has entered into 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).  It is scheduled to operate a remaining solar farm in November 2012 and the cogeneration project in 2016.   

Mr. Noppol Milinthanggoon, RATCH’s Chief Executive Officer said that the substantial progress of our project development reflects the Company's steady and solid growth resulting from the efficiency and effectiveness of its investment strategies and business direction. With an aim of business expansion and generating good returns on investment, the Company has identified its investment in three core businesses including power generation, renewable power and business related to power generation. Currently, the Company accelerates its generating capacity to 6,500 MWs of which 5,300 MWs has already operated and the rest is under development.  At the end of the year's first half, the Company's total asset recorded  THB 100.411 billion, while the interim dividend payment will be paid at THB 1.10 a share on 14 September.

For Solarta's solar power projects, the total eight projects with combined capacity of 34.25 MWs, one of them, the 3-MW Saisena project in Ayutthaya Province has started operation commercially since April 2011.  Another six projects which have recently started commercial operation as follows:

These projects were already granted a non-firm power purchase agreement for a very small power producer using renewable energy with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and a subsidy of 8 Baht per kWh adder for 10 years from the Power Department Fund Management Division. 

The 122 MW Cogeneration Power Plant with 15 ton per hour steam capacity is located in Nava NakornIndustrial Promotion Zone, Pathumthani province and scheduled its commercial operation in 2016.
