RATCH’s volunteer spirit project to change light bulbs for lower electricity consumption and global warming mitigation.

Phetchaburi: More than 50 volunteers consisting of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company’s employees, government officials, local people and members of King Mongkut’s Memorial Park Lover Club participated in “RATCH’s volunteer spirit project to change light bulbs for lower electricity consumption and global warming mitigation” held at King Mongkut’s Memorial Park, Pranakhonkiri, Phetchaburi. This is a project to change former light bulbs to 632 LED light bulbs (with a value of THB100,000) which will help save energy of more than 70% or reduce the carbon dioxide emission of around 0.01778 kgCO2 per year. In this event, Mr. Montien Thongnit, Phetchaburi governor, was a representative to receive LED light bulbs. Also, Mr. Tatsachon Buddharattana, the director of Phetchaburi Provincial Energy Office, participated in this activity.

 “RATCH’s volunteer spirit project to change light bulbs for lower electricity consumption and global warming mitigation” activity was created to support the construction work of  King Mongkut’s Memorial Park, Phetchaburi in order to celebrate the 200th birthday anniversary of King Mongkut in 2004 as well as the occasion of His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary in 2007. This activity also helped increase people’s awareness towards the importance and conservation of energy in order to alleviate the global warming impacts. Based on the concept of “living-well in harmony and balance with nature,” the company also conducted this corporate social responsibility activity to encourage the community to save energy in order to reduce the carbon dioxide emission which is the cause of global warming and climate change.
