Ratchaburi Holding Granted Scholarships Enhancing Vocational Students’ Skills in the Education for Career Empowerment Project in Lao PDR

Prof. Dr. Kongsy Sengmany, (Back row on the right) Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, Lao PDR and Mr. Noppol Milinthanggoon, (Back row on the left) Chief Executive Officer of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Plc. presided over the ceremony to deliver 10 scholarships and provide three model engineering laboratories for vocational colleges participating in the "Education for Career Empowerment" program. The event was recently held at the Lao-German Technical College.

The “Education for Career Empowerment” socio-educational project was initiated as a collaboration between Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL, ("RATCH"), the first Thai private sector, and the Ministry of Education and Sports, Lao PDR. This initiative aims to promote vocational education while addressing the Lao PDR’s educational development strategy and enhancing the engineering skills to produce individuals for the Lao labor market in the future. Preliminary, the project highlights knowledge development and skill enhancement at the level of high vocational certificate and bachelor degree in the field of electrical technology, welding and mechanical tool technology for teachers and educational practitioners in seven vocational colleges in Vientiane, Luangphrabang, Xayabouly and Xiengkhuang. Moreover, fundamental technical tools and three laboratories in Vientiane were competently improved: A model electrical lab at Polytechnic College; a model mechanical lab at the Pakpasak College; and a model metal welding lab at the Lao-German Technical College. These laboratories were provided to the Ministry of Education and Sports, Lao PDR as models for the further development.
