RATCH – Ministry of Education and Sports, Lao PDR join hands to continue “Education for Career Empowerment Project” Phase II

Vientiane Lao PDR – Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited and the Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR jointly signed the Letter of Intention on “Education for Career Empowerment Project” Phase II to support the skill and capability enhancement for vocational education personnel in Lao PDR.

At the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kongsy Sengmany, Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, the representative of Lao government entered into the Letter of Intention with Mr. Kijja Sripattangkura, RATCH CEO. In addition, Mr. Noophan Utsa, Director-General of Vocational Educational Department, Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR and executives also participated in the ceremony.

“Education for Career Empowerment Project” Phase II (2018 – 2023) has expanded its support to renewable energy, which is the additional fourth category from the existing three categories in the first phase which are electric power, mechanics and welding. Meanwhile, the pilot project for renewable energy was implemented at Khammouane technical-vocational College.

Starting in 2011, “Education for Career Empowerment Project” aims at improving the standard of technical education for teachers in higher-vocational school and the undergraduate level as well as training courses for the final-year vocational school student in order to improve their skill to meet the need of labor market and prepare small- and medium- entrepreneurs to boost the national economy overall.
