RFD & RATCH look for the best national community Inviting community forests nationwide to join “2024 Love the Forest and Community Program” contest

The Royal Forest Department joins hands with RATCH Group Public Company Limited, searching for the best national community forest under the “17th Love the Forest and Community Program” to expand the sustainable community forests network and pursuing carbon neutrality goal with an aim to sustainable forests and value contribution for community’s livings. The winner will receive the royal trophy of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and a 200,000-baht Community Forest Conservation Fund. The contest is now open for application until 15 March 2024.

The application form is now available through RFD’s website: www.forest.go.th and RATCH’s website: www.ratch.co.th or request for application form at the Bureau of Forest Resources and call the Bureau of Community Forest Management at 0 2561 4292-3 ext. 5654.

The National Community Forest Award under the “2024 Love the Forest and Community Program” consists of 16 prizes valued at 1.4 million baht. Details are following below;

  1. The National Community Forest Award, the winner will receive the trophy of honor of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and a 200,000-baht Community Forest Conservation Fund.
  2. The Runner-up of the National Community Forest Award, three awardees will receive an honorable trophy and a 150,000-baht Community Forest Conservation Fund each.
  3. The Regional Community Forest Award, four awardees will receive an honorable plaque and a 100,000-baht Community Forest Conservation Fund each.
  4. The Runner-up of the Regional Community Forest Award, four awardees will receive an honorable plaque and a 50,000-baht Community Forest Conservation Fund each
  5. The Development Community Forest Award, four awardees to receive an honorable trophy and a 50,000-baht Community Forest Conservation Fund each

The selection criteria for the best practice community forest include abundance and biodiversity of the forest, the community participation in local management, and the conservation plan in balance of forestry consumption and sustainable guidelines.
