Commercial Operation of 234-MW Ratchaburi World Cogeneration Power Plant Ready to Support EGAT’s Power Grid

Ratchaburi: Mr. Pongdith Potchana, Chief Executive Officer of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited(“RATCH”) (fourth from right), and Mr. PeerawatPumthong, the Chief Business Development Officer-1of RATCH and Chairman of Ratchaburi World Cogeneration Co., Ltd.(third from right), participated in the grand opening ceremony of 234-MW Ratchaburi World Cogeneration power plant. Also, Ratchaburi Governor Surapon Sawangsak(middle) presided over this opening ceremony. 

With 40% stakes by RATCH, the unit 1 of 117-MW gas-fired Ratchaburi World Cogeneration power plant (SPP) was commercially operated and distributed electricity to EGAT in November 2014 and the unit 2 has just commercially operated in March 2015. Besides, this project can produce steam of 40 tons/ hour for factories located in Ratchaburi Industrial Estate.

RATCH Group Public Company Limited has contributed 40 tCO2eq of carbon credits from the Energy Efficiency Project through LED Lighting Replacement by Ratchaburi Power Plant to support the Executive Program in Energy Literacy for a Sustainable Future, Class 21 by Thailand Energy Academy.
